Mr. Dudar's 3rd Graders Share Their Most Amazing Experience in Nature...
My Cave Adventure
It was hot as a tea kettle boiling in the sun. I was sweating like there was no tomorrow. I felt like I was going to blow up like a hotdog in the microwave. But finally I made it to a nice cool cave. One super cool thing that I did in nature was being in a cave in Texas. I was walking up a straight trail until I saw a black circle. The black circle looked like a cave, it turned out that the huge circle was a cave. S o I walked into the cave. I saw so many stalagmites. I wanted to eat them because they looked exactly like bacon. I loved when I went in that cave.

The Fossil Dig
There I was chiseling off fossils with hammers and axes. The area was as beautiful a flower. We were finding amazing fossils. They were rocks with bug imprints on them. It was weird but cool. I was at the fossil dig with the Eldredges and their son Rick. Rick is my friend. We went there from the Adirondacks. We have a house there with no power or cellular service. The fossil dig a little bit in the woods. Most of the area was made out of rock. I loved the fossil dig. By: Evan Tighe
When I Saw a Fox
It happened in the Haldane Woods. I was as hot as a stove. The leaves were crunching like candy bars getting eaten. I was very tired. I felt like I was going to fall asleep. That’s when it happened.
I was walking in the woods when I saw the fox. The fox came running down. It was reddish-brownish. It ran right by me and my friend. It was as fast as lightning. That was a fun day. By: Luke Parrella
A Coyote from the Car
One warm Friday evening I was going out to dinner with my family. We where driving along quietly. We were approaching a tunnel and we were driving by the train tracks when….
A coyote ran into the road! My dad had to quickly stop the car. It stopped and looked at us. I was looking at him and he was looking at me. I was so amazed to see his light brown fur and big paws. That was by far, one of the most amazing things that I have ever seen. By: Katie Shields
James Pond Fox
It was a humid sunny day. The time was 2:15. The day was as hot as a burning stove. I was sizzling, although there was a little breeze
As me and my class were walking back from a trail, all of a sudden a Fox popped out of the middle of the woods! Everybody ran to go see it, but sadly it ran away. We were all so amazed because we saw a red fox. It was so miraculous. By Stefano Hammond
It was as cold as if I was in a freezer. The snow was as white as a cloud. All the wolves were like a cloud of fluff. Then the wolves were howling like the wind blowing with all its might.
Have you ever seen a wolf? All the 3rd graders went. We saw a lot of cool things. One thing we saw was a wolf howling in front of us. The wolves we saw were gray wolves, Mexican gray wolf, and artic wolves. It was very cool. By: William Etta
El Yunque Rainforest
It was a beautiful wet & misty day in The El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico. The sky was a baby blue color, and there was shinning bright. Every tree stood tall with roots that looked like chicken feet. We saw the most fabulous water fall and that’s when it happened… I could barely see a thing. The fog was everywhere. When the fog cleared a super small frog landed on my hand. It was called a Coo Ce (cook-e.) It looked like a crumb in my hand. El Yunque Rainforest was superb.
When I Climbed A Mountain
Do you know where I went once? Well I once went on a humungous hike were I felt like I could touch a cloud. The leaves were turning into different colors but the weather was still warm. At first the trail was very smooth but then it became very steep and rocky. On the trail the pine trees smelled like Christmas. That mountain was tremendous!!!
The air was warmish coldish but I did not need a sweater. The course went higher and higher above me. “Rocky I said as walked closer and closer to the edge of the cliff… “WOW” I said that was the most beautiful sight I have ever said! Then me and my family kept on going on the trail. On the way back I said “we should have come here during raspberry season.” I loved that hike!!! By: Mazzie Maxwell
The Dogwood Tree
The sun was as bright as a candle flame. I saw it at my dark orange house. The beautiful flower petals looked like a snow storm had just came by and left a white cold mess. It was a beautiful Dogwood tree as beautiful as can be. Its flower petals were blooming bigger and brighter. My opinion is that it is the most beautiful tree in the universe. That is what I think about the tree. What do you think about it? By: Rose Labarbera
